To be found
To slip quietly out of reach, as if fading away would somehow lighten the things I carry. But the truth
is, I don’t really want to vanish. What I want... is to be found. All this time, I want the gentle hands to
be held for myself and sometimes I do this for me.
To be found isn’t dramatic, but gentle.
To be found in the simplest, most ordinary ways.
In a pair of gentle eyes that linger long enough to notice the tiredness I tried to hide.
In hands that don’t demand explanations, but still hold the trembling parts of me.
In the comfort of a presence that says nothing, yet says everything, I see you. You are not invisible.
And sometimes we often think we want distance, but really, we ache for closeness, we think we want
silence, but really, we long for someone who can sit with us in it.
We think we want to run away, but deep down, we are waiting for someone who will come searching.
There is a quiet kind of pleasure in being found.
Not the loud kind. But the soft, steady kind like someone remembering your favorite song, or noticing
the way your voice shakes when you say “I’m fine.”
The kind that makes you realize you don’t have to perform to be loved, you don’t have to disappear to
be worthy.
To be found is to be held without question, seen without asking, loved without condition.
It is the hug the world often forgets to give.
To be found in the kind of way that doesn’t demand masks or explanations.
To be found in the pauses between words, where someone listens without rushing you.
To be found in the hands that do not just hold you, but hold space for you the shaking, the silence, the
mess, the fragments.
And maybe this is why we ache so much because the world convinces us that disappearing is easier.
But no. What our hearts are truly longing for is the warmth of recognition, the safety of belonging, the
simple joy of knowing someone is looking for us, even when we feel lost.
Someone will care enough to look for us.
Because sometimes, the heart doesn’t want to hide, it only wants to be found, softly, in the gentle hands.
